Keren Reiser Registered Dietician Ottawa

Registered Dietitian in Ottawa

Nutrition balance is essential for a healthy and fulfilling life.

As a busy individual, nutrition is often one of the first things that fall by the wayside.

After all, trying to excel in your career, maintain a social life, and get the necessary exercise and sleep is a lot for one person to handle.

You never quite know what food will set you off, and you’ve started limiting the foods you eat to gain control of your gut symptoms.

Maybe you:

Start work early and are always rushing out the door in the morning

Are slammed with assignments and are constantly eating lunch at your desk (if you even get to eat at all)

Are so exhausted by the end of a long workday that you hit the drive thru rather than cooking at home.

And to top it all off?

Stress and a poor diet have got your digestive system in a tailspin.

If this sounds like you, I’m here to help.

When we work together, I’ll meet you where you’re at to help develop a nutrition plan that considers your budget, gut symptoms, preferences, and busy schedule.

How It Works

Free 15-minute call

As a new client, you have the option to book a free 15-minute call to ask questions and clarify how my services can help you to achieve your best nutritional health.

Initial Assessment Session

During our first meeting, either in-person or virtually, we’ll spend an hour completing a thorough review of your diet history, lifestyle, medical history, social history, and symptoms. When we work together, we’ll work as a team to come up with the best solution for you. While I’m the nutrition expert, you’re the expert in your own life and have valuable knowledge to contribute to your care plan.

Action Plan

Once we’ve painted a clear picture of your personal health and goals, I’ll develop individualized strategies to help you get symptom relief. Your nutrition care plan will be unique to you and will consider everything we discussed during the initial assessment.

Accountability and Follow-ups

In between our visits, you will have access to me through a secure private messenger service to ask questions and seek motivation and support. When we meet for follow-up sessions, we’ll review your progress and assess your symptoms. We adjust your care plan during this meeting to ensure you’re meeting your goals and gaining sustainable, long-term gut health.

Meal Plans

I will provide you with the right tools and resources for easy meals that are free of angst. You will feel good knowing that your meal plan is healthy and nourishing. You will also learn how to meal plan, shop, and cook so that you can redirect your focus to sharing quality time around the meal table.

Do I need to see a registered dietitian or a holistic nutritionist?

You would think that eating healthy food and sustaining a nutritious diet would be simple. But as we all know, life sometimes gets in the way, especially when you’re trying to manage bothersome gut symptoms. Many of us need a helping hand to:

  • Educate us
  • Get us organized
  • Get us started
  • Keep us motivated
  • Hold us accountable

That’s where a registered dietitian (RD.), a regulated health professional, can help. RDs must adhere to standards of care, education criteria, and ethics of the profession. As a regulated health professional, I am trained to help you manage your physical, emotional and behavioural health around eating food by translating scientific information and presenting it in an easy-to-understand, practical and actionable way.
